The shower was held at Edmund's Showcase Caterers in Garden City, New York on August 9th, 1998. Thrown by my mother, my maids of honor Christine Buatti and Louise Russo, and bridesmaid Denise Masse, the shower was fabulous. Though I wasn't surprised (I picked up the phone and accidentally heard Denise and my mom talking about it), I still had a great time. They decorated the room with white and light blue balloons and my mom made 3 different favors; an upside down umbrella magnet with a bride & groom and light blue ribbons with my name and wedding date, an upside down fan/spade-shaped favor with flowers and a bride & groom and light blue ribbons with my name and wedding date. She also made a pretty fan that sat as centerpiece on the "bride-to-be" table. They had the traditional wishing well which was packed with little kitchen knick-knacks and accessories, as well as the "bride's throne" which was a white wicker chair that I sat in to open presents. The food was delicious, and we had bottomless refills of piņa coladas. Yum!
